Cerpen : Ketika Cinta Berusrah

Cerpen : Ketika Cinta Berusrah

"Assalamualaikum akhi. Takpe ke malam ni usrah kt salahuddin ni? macam jauh je." aku cuba mendapatkan penjelasan.

"Bila lagi kita nak pergi Surau salahuddin kan?" balas beliau.

Jam 11.15 malam ,kelibat mereka masih belum kelihatan.

"eh akhi naqib, kenapa berpeluh-peluh ni?", tanya aku.

"ana naik basikal dari zubair ke salahuddin. fuhh. penat naik bukit. lama dah tak naik basikal." jawab sang naqib sambil tercungap – cungap.

Waktu tu, aku terdiam. Tersentuh. Tak tahu nak kata apa. Allahuakbar.

"
Kitorang datang naik basikal, bergilir gilir. Hanis naik basikal, Zakwan joging, lepas tu tukar-tukar la” balas mereka.
"Aipp..enta jogging pakai apa?" aku meminta kepastian.

"selipar jela malam – malam ni." luah Zakwan.

Subhanallah. Aku terkedu sendirian .

Kata mudah, Ketika Cinta Berusrah!

Jom Join Usrah!

Book Review - Two Faces : Trial Without Detention

This book being borrowed by my friend, Arief Daniel Maliki bin Abdul Malik as an exchange of 'Sekolah Bukan Penjara, Universiti Bukan Kilang' written by ZF Zamir about August 2014. I read this book slowly because I was focusing on my academics and other books that is more essential. Finally I accomplished my target to finish it before, 'Along' (his nickname) come back to Malaysia from his studies at Egypt. I found out that this book is really impressive in explaining the things that happened behind the bar. This book is a record of Syed Husin while detained in Camp Kamunting under the Internal Security Act (ISA) when the mass demonstrations in Baling 1974, which is dominated by students.

"Since Jun 72, up to the time of your arrest on 7 Dec 74, you Syed Hussein Ali, have consistenly noted in a manner prejudicial to the security of Malaysia in that you have actively, knowingly and willingny assisted the ilegal Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) by promoting subersive students activities in institutions of higher learning and the legally registered Partai Sosialis Rakyat Malaya (PSRM) in order to overthrow the legally constituted Government of Malaysia by unconstitutional and revolutionary means." - ORDER OF DETENTION

In this note Syed Husin told that he was kidnapped and taken to a strange place and outside of people knowledge. Asked the same question repeatedly and not allowed to sleep. The condition of the room were dirty, their clothes were never changed and smelled musty, slept on the cement and the toilet was disgusting - it's kind of like giving him emotional distress.

Parties wishing to impose conditions of his release when he is free he will not be active in any of the member associations and lectures. He also asked to sign some sort of recognition that the allegations made in the indictment against him is true.

Also on hold with Syed Husin is Anwar Anwar Ibrahim but freed earlier and not imposed any conditions when he was freed 4 years earlier. Among the highlights is a good attitude Anwar Ibrahim, who has always been 'Imam' praying while Syed Husin and other detainees would be his followers. Anwar also teach other prisoners in Quran recitation. Despite his righteous character, sometimes he also sang Hindustani and classical song titled Azizah. It is related to his wife,Dr. Wan Azizah? (During that time they were not married yet). It was stated that, It also stated that Anwar Ibrahim had applied to further his studies at master level under Professor Naqib. The full name is not specified whether it was Professor Naqib Al Attas or not. Anwar Ibrahim was also a former student of Syed Husin in the social sciences subject in UM.

Not everyone is able to withstand the abuse of the ISA. Each detained will be offered to departure, but was forced to agree after coming out of prison, which is not to against the Barisan Nasional government. Ibrahim Ali, MITSU President and also Deputy President of PKPIM gave up earlier. However it is uncertain whether his political stance today is the result of events happened over 30 years ago?

While at Camp Kemunting ,Syed Husin do a lot of reading and writing, he was also preparing a book and Malays: Problems and Future. He also taught some prisoners to read . Syed Husin condensed his soul. This coupled with the presence of a wife who is steadfast and courageous. His wife did not want to Syed Husin surrender. This gives strength to her in order to survive.

Despite all the violent stories, there is a little funny part. There is an old prisoner who offered free dental treatment at government hospitals. Within a few months of his teeth had been pulled out bit by bit to paste dentures. Unfortunately when a tooth left, he was terminated in detention camps. The hope to have a free denture teeth are all gone home.

6 years to reach his arrest Syed Husin doing an activity strange. In one afternoon, he played ping pong with wearing sarong. Unfortunately, he fall down while playing. He was taken to hospital afterwards and suffered serious injuries on his leg. A week later, he was released from prison on parole although he did not sign the agreement.

Everyone has their own struggles.
Some fight for their freedom of country.
Some fight for their love one.
Some fight for their health
Some fight for their happiness
Whatever it is be a strong fighter, that will never give up.
Yes, sometimes you feeling down, its normal.
Head up, look forward, big hearted.
Remember,

Fight whether you are in comfortable or difficult condition
